We got up early and watched The Severn Bore at Epney, in Gloucestershire. Then, while the bore went around a loop in the river, we drove on to Stonebench and watched it go past again. A man let us watch it from his garden, right by the side of the river. The many surfers at Epney had disappeared by the time the wave reached Stonebench.
